In case you didn’t know, Amazon is very much in the Neil Gaiman business. American Gods is certainly among the streaming (and shopping) giants most imaginative and distinctive shows. Good news then, following the a few behind the scenes difficulties, which saw the exit of Gillian Anderson and show runners Michael Green and Fuller, that Season 2 is now in production. And just as an extra treat for all you fans of gorgeously dark fantasy, we have Mr Gaiman himself to give you a little peak behind the scenes.
The video, which was recently posted on Gaiman’s personal Twitter account was shot on set at The House on the Rock and includes shout outs from both Neil Gaiman himself, protagonist Shadow Moon played by Ricky Whittle and cast member Yetide Badaki, who will return in her role as Bilquis. Give it a look!
Based on the best-selling book of the same name, American Gods stars Ricky Whittle (The 100, Austenland) as protagonist ex-con Shadow Moon, Ian McShane(Deadwood, Pirates of the Caribbean) as Mr. Wednesday, and Emily Browning(Sucker Punch, Legend) as Shadow’s wife, Laura Moon. Season two will see the return of Pablo Schreiber (13 Hours, Orange Is the New Black) as Mad Sweeney, Yetide Badaki (Aquarius, Masters of Sex) as Bilquis, Bruce Langley as Tech Boy and Kristin Chenoweth, as Easter and the addition of some new characters as well.
Excitement is also currently building for the Prime Original series Good Omens, based on the hugely-popular novel written by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, which will launch on Prime Video around the world in 2019. We said that Amazon was very much in the Neil Gaiman business.
