‘Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan’ Season 2 Greenlit Because You Can’t Keep a Good Man Down.

There’s no keeping a good man down. Especially when that man is Tom Clancy’s iconic Jack Ryan Character. Series 1 of the new Jack Ryan series (full title Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan) is set to air on Amazon Prime Video on 31st August, and anticipation is now so high that Series 2 has already been green-lit. This may seem like a risk, but considering that the streaming giant experienced a 400% increase in Prime subscribers adding Jack Ryan following the show’s Super Bowl advert, really they’re just betting on a sure thing.

Over to the folks at Amazon to give us the full lowdown…

Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, from Paramount Television and Skydance Television, is a reinvention with a modern sensibility of the famed and lauded Tom Clancy hero played by John Krasinski (A Quiet Place, 13 Hours). The creators of the series, Executive Producers Carlton Cuse (Lost, Bates Motel) and Graham Roland (FringePrison Break), will continue to serve as Co-Showrunners. Additionally, Krasinski, who also serves as an Executive Producer, will be reunited with Wendell Pierce (The Wire) who will reprise his role as James Greer in the eight-episode second season. In series two, Jack Ryan confronts the forces in power in a dangerous, declining democratic regime in South America. The second series commences production this summer in Europe, South America and the United States.”

With Krasinski’s popularity soaring following his monster hit A Quiet Place, it’s safe to say that Jack Ryan is well and truly back, even if he isn’t quite here yet.
